Shri Kashi Vishwanath Darshan and Pooja Booking

The Shri Kashi Vishwanath temple stands as a symbol of reverence in Varanasi, with its construction dating back to 1780 under the patronage of Maratha queen Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore.

Visiting the Shri Kashi Vishwanath temple is a spiritual journey that typically requires 1 to 2 hours for Pooja or Dharshan on regular days. However, if you plan your visit for Monday or other special occasions, be prepared for longer waiting times, which can stretch to several hours.

It's worth noting that once you enter the temple premises, your time inside is limited to just a few minutes.

For those seeking a more convenient and queue-free darshan experience, the temple offers the "Sugam Darshan" booking process. This unique option is designed for individuals with constraints, disabilities, or special needs. To avail of this service, visit the temple helpdesk to collect wristbands for Darshan. It's important to note that Sugam Darshan is not available during the time of Aarti.

The Mangla Aarti, a significant ritual at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath temple, takes place between 3:00 and 4:00 AM every morning.

Tourists are allowed to enter the temple between 2:30 and 3:00 AM to witness this auspicious event. The Mangla Aarti holds immense importance as it marks the beginning of the day, known as the "Brahma muhurta" hour.

For those seeking a more expedited temple visit, there's the option of a VIP darshan. This special service can be availed of by purchasing a ticket priced at Rs. 300 per person from the helpdesk near Shapuri Mall. Please note that booking for the VIP Darshan is available two days in advance, but online booking can be done up to 45 days ahead. Do keep in mind that this special darshan may not be available on certain special days, and the duration typically ranges from 30 to 45 minutes.

Lastly, here's the mantra associated with Shri Kashi Vishwanath:

"Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushti-Vardhanam Urvarukamiva Bandhanan Mrityor Mukshiya Maamritat"

This mantra holds deep spiritual significance and is chanted with devotion by visitors to the temple.
